Our adventure began about 15 minutes after leaving the airport, when our van got stuck in a rut on the side of a crowded busy alley during a windy rain storm en route to breakfast. Our itinerary had us moving to different regions of the country almost daily, so we had our work cut out for us. With excitement to match our ambitions, we continued on to explore the capital city of Colombo, the ancient fortress of Sigiriya, the mountain town of Kandy, a scenic train ride to Ella, and the southern beaches of Mirissa. While on the road Alex and Carrie adopted a stray puppy to be named Lanka, who came back with them to LA. It was an epic journey I'll never forget.
