Hurricane Dorian

September 1-5, 2019

Hurricane Dorian, the strongest storm on record to hit The Bahamas, reached Grand Bahama Island with Category 5 winds and storm surges decimating the island for a week straight. Thousands of people were left displaced, missing, or killed.

September 6, 2019

Coral Vita, a local company based in Freeport, Grand Bahama, along with U.S. Coast Guard, Miami Fire Department, and various emergency response NGO's mobilized personnel and resources to help in the first response to the disaster. My friend Mark and I joined in the effort, producing photo and video content for an emergency relief fundraising campaign launched by Coral Vita. We raised $60k, which directly financed some of the first food, water, and medical supply distribution on the island.
